The north-eastern region of the Lubusz Voivodeship – Drezdenko – is worth visiting.
North of the Noteć River, the Drawsko Forest offers a beautiful Lubowo Lake with depths ranging from 4 to 15 meters, a well-developed shoreline with bays and promontories, a mostly sandy bottom and considerable water transparency. Therefore, it is a popular place for relaxation. The reservoir is situated in a deep basin and is considered one of the cleanest in the region. In the surroundings, you can visit the remains of German fortifications from the Second World War.
While enjoying summer bathing on one of the two guarded beaches – Zagórze and Lubiewo (40 and 50 m wide) – it is worth visiting the charming places in the town located 7 km away.
One of the attractions is the area of the former fortress. Standing on the Wolności Square we are in its very center. The fortress was built east of the town, with which it was connected by a road and a rampart gate in the western curtain. A wooden bridge over the river connected the building with roads to Silesia and Greater Poland. One span of the bridge was drawbridge. The fortification was built on a pentagonal plan with bastions in each corner. It was surrounded by a moat with water from the nearby Noteć River. Inside the fortress buildings were built to ensure self-sufficiency in case of a longer siege. They consisted of barracks, storehouses, granaries, guardhouses and the master’s residence. An armoury was located in the northern curtain and a detached house with a well was built in the axis of the entrance gate. The granary has been preserved to this day and it houses the Drawsko and Notecka Primeval Forest Museum.
