This Sunday, August 29, from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm, the public is invited to Zagan for the Duke's Park Festival. The first mention of Żagań park appeared in the 17th century. The greatest influence on the shape of the palace-park assumptions was the Duchess of Żagań Dorota de Talleyrand-Périgord. The palace park received a new romantic character, designed by Friedrich Teichert. The park layout was divided into two parts: an inner one with numerous buildings, and an outer one, open to the surrounding countryside. The inspiration for the changes made was Muskauer Park. To this day, Żagań's park delights with its beauty and is a favorite place for walks for residents and tourists.
As part of the Park Festival, a number of attractions for young and old are planned for this Sunday: Zlota Rybka fishing competition on the Beaver River by the Mlynowka, Great Bicycles from the Wiechlice Palace in the pre-castle area, Street Art "Mashkaron" workshops by the "Frog" fountain, canoes on the Beaver canal, train to culture - a train journey through the park, go-karts, Tasty Podzamcze, park games, a relaxation zone with yoga, animations for children, handicraft booths, concerts (Filip Slezak, Massier Sisters), theater in the courtyard, an epoch tour of the park and a night tour of the ducal palace. The event will conclude with a spectacle in the bailey "Tarabumba Circus." In addition, there will be a Family Picnic in the courtyard of the palace, during which a mobile vaccination station will offer the opportunity to be vaccinated with Johnson & Johnson brand vaccine (from 12:00 to 18:00).
Due to the rich program of the event, individual activities will be held simultaneously in different parts of the park. Participants entering through the main entrance from Szprotawska Street will receive situational maps showing the locations of the prepared attractions.
The public task is co-financed from the funds received from the Marshal's Office of the Lubuskie Voivodeship
