Zielona Góra – the largest city in the Lubusz Voivodeship, the capital of local government, the seat of the district governor of Zielona Góra, the capital of Zielona Góra-Gorzów Diocese. Zielona Góra is located in western Poland, on the slope of the Odra River Valley, where it crosses a range of hills known as Zielona Góra Embankment. From the northwest the city borders with Niecka Płotowska, and from the northeast with Niecka Chynowska.
In the collection of the Museum of Lubusz Land there are currently over 17 thousand objects.
Particularly noteworthy is the Wine Department Collection (the only one in Poland) containing tools and utensils related to wine production, stoneware, tinware, artistic and household glass, wine-themed ex librises and works of art on wine production and drinking culture.
The collection of the Department of Old Art consists of sculpture, painting, graphic arts and crafts. Permanent exhibitions present ceramics, clocks, goldsmith and pewter products. The group of particularly valuable objects includes sacral sculpture from the 14th to the early 20th century, connected with the Lower Silesia region.
The centuries-long history of Zielona Góra is presented in an exhibition containing such artefacts as postcards, seals, election posters, banners, maps and plans. The image of the town’s spatial development is complemented by three models showing Zielona Góra in the 15th and 18th centuries and in 2000.
