Hiking trails in the Rzeczpospolita Ptasia

The hiking trails in the Rzeczpospolita Ptasia are an important element of the tourist product "Rzeczpospolita Ptasia,” which uses extremely valuable nature values of the Warta Mouth. Since 2002 this product has been enriched with new attractions directed, among others, to tourists interested in nature, bird watching and photography. Since 2010, 6 bird tourist trails have been delineated and marked, with a total length of 72 km, leading through protected areas – the Landscape Park, Natura 2000 and the vicinity of the "Warta Mouth" National Park. The Gęgawa, Darkacz, Kani and Dudek trails are marked as footpaths, but are also accessible to cyclists. The Dzięcioł trail is a nature and education trail. Zimorodek trail is a canoe trail. There are 8 boards with maps and information about the trails.
Tourists visiting the Rzeczpospolita Ptasia and hiking in the national park have repeatedly pointed out the lack of hiking infrastructure. As a result, the TPS has undertaken to map and mark hiking trails in the Rzeczpospolita Ptasia. The trails are named after birds that can be seen along the route. This encourages and challenges hikers to see and sometimes take photos of species while hiking. The Dzięcioł trail, which is an educational nature trail, attracts families and school trips, and the Kani Trail leads to the lake. The Zimorodek trail makes it easier for canoeists to observe the nearby nature reserves and to rest in a marked place. According to tourists, a valuable feature of the bird trails is that they are not crowded with tourists.
