The Commune of Lubrza is located in the central part of the Lubusz Voivodeship, near the A2 Berlin-Warsaw highway, about 70 km from the German border. Lubrza offers many attractions. Great climate conditions, landform, numerous lakes and forests are conducive to recreation. The landscape is characterized by a large number of moraine hills covered with forests and reaching the absolute height of over 100 m. The lakes in the area have the total area of 600 ha. The biggest one – Niesłysz Lake – is 496 ha large.
The Boryszyn Loop is certainly one of the biggest tourist attractions of the Lubrza commune. The fortifications built in the interwar period are part of Międzyrzecz Fortified Region (Międzyrzecki Rejon Umocniony – MRU), and it can be boldly regarded as the largest underground fortifications in the world. Fortifications are not only underground, but also huge, single bunkers scattered around the entire Lubrza commune. Visiting the Boryszyn Loop provides an unforgettable experience. There is an underground tourist route available, located near Boryszyn. The undergrounds are guided by qualified guides, who guarantee complete safety. It is worth mentioning that in the area of fortifications, there is a bat sanctuary, which hibernates during the winter with about 40 thousand representatives of this species.
The showpiece of the region, which is worth experiencing, is the event called "Nenufar Night.” This event has been attracting crowds of tourists for years, always on the third Saturday of July. Apart from attractions and concerts, the most interesting part of the event is a fairy-tale spectacle on the waters of Goszcza Lake presenting the love story of Lubrzana and Sławoja. The show refers to the legend of naming individual lakes in the Lubrza commune.
