Mużakowski Park is located on the Nysa Łużycka River, on both sides of the Polish-German border. The western part of the park with its residential centre is located on the German side in the town of Bad Muskau. The eastern part is located on the Polish side in the town of Łęknica. Mużakowski Park is a landscape park from the first half of the 19th century, a leading example of European garden art of that period, and at the same time a unique combination of nature and gardening art. It lies on the Nysa Łużycka River, on both sides of the Polish-German border. It was founded on an area of over 700 hectares by Prince Hermann von Pückler-Muskau, a German aristocrat, noted writer, theoretician and practitioner of landscape gardening. The Prince was the originator and author of the park, and he was assisted in its construction by a number of advisors: Karl Friedrich Schinkel, the author of the project to rebuild the main residences and park buildings, August Schirmer, the painter, John Adey Repton, the English architect, and the gardener, Jacob Rehder, the manager of park works.
The public task is co-financed from the funds received from the Marshal's Office of the Lubuskie Voivodeship
