Manor House Palace and park in Iłowa

Iłowa Palace was built in 1626 by Baron Christoph von Schellendorf. It was built on the site of a former defensive stronghold. First in Renaissance style, then a Baroque wing was added and enriched with Art Nouveau elements. It was extended by Count Friederick von Promnitz. It was thanks to this family that the park, designed in the French and English style, was established. The owner of the palace, between 1902 and 1914, Count Friederick von Hochberg, inspired by his trips to Japan and Asia, introduced elements of oriental art into the palace decor. Currently the building houses the High School Complex.
