Kuna – the oldest floating river icebreaker in the world

The ship is about to turn 130 years old. It was built in 1884 in Danziger Schiffswerft & Kesselschmiede Feliks Devrient & Co. shipyard for Königlich Preussische Weichsel-Strombauverwaltung, as the fourth from series of steam icebreakers. At present, its home port is Gorzów Wielkopolski. The measure of events and geopolitical changes in Central Europe in the 20th century is the fact that the ship has changed its flag five times in its history, without changing its region of operation. "Kuna" is currently sailing as a museum and training ship. It is intended for historical and cultural education in the broadly understood history of waterways, inland navigation, hydraulic engineering, ecology as well as culture and history of the region where it was restored.
