Kostrzyn Fortress Museum – the oldest fortress in Poland. This unique open-air museum presents the remains of the city razed to the ground in 1945. In the area with preserved street layout from the 16th century you can see the ruins of the Old Town, also called "Kostrzyn Pompeii.” In the southern corner of the fortress is Philip Bastion. In its casemates there is a permanent museum exhibition presenting the history of the city-fortress. Multimedia and graphics allow visitors to see the city that no longer exists. The promenade on the crown of fortifications by the Odra River invites you to take a walk, and from it you can enjoy an extensive view of the Odra River valley. At the information desk in the Berlin Gate you can get information and purchase souvenirs and publications. The area can be explored on foot or by bike.
