Glacial erratic in Bobrówko

The largest glacial erratic in the Lubusz region is located in a farmland, on the southern slope of a moraine hill, on the northern side of the road leading from Bobrówko to Machar in the Strzelce Krajeńskie commune. The historical name of the stone, Breiter Stein (wide stone), is almost identical to the German name (Breitenstein) of nearby Bobrówko. This indicates that also in the Middle Ages, when the town was founded, the boulder was one of the elements organizing the space of its then inhabitants. Nowadays, the object has been given the common name of the Lying Elephant.
