The Park is located in five communes: Barlinek, Nowogródek Pomorski, Pełczyce, Kłodawa and Strzelce Krajeńskie. Vast areas of forests are administered by the Forest Districts: Kłodawa, Strzelce Krajeńskie, Barlinek and Choszczno. The majority of the BGPK area is covered by forests, which constitute 81.24% of its area and in 90% they include pine, beech and oak tree stands. Areas used for agriculture occupy only 7.44% of the Park and 34.96% in its buffer zone.
The Park includes an area protected due to its natural, historical and cultural values, as well as landscape values in order to promote them under conditions of sustainable development. The Barlinecko-Gorzowski Landscape Park is located in the West Pomeranian and South Pomeranian Lake District macro-region, within two mesoregions.
