The first church located on the Church Square is known to have burned down during the great fire of Drezdenko in 1662.
The Parish Church of the Transfiguration of Our Lord in Drezdenko was built according to the design of architect Prof. Johannes Otzen (although there are some who attribute the authorship of design to the architect named Spitt). The decision to accept the project was made in 1896. The works were completed in 1902 and on June 11 the new temple was consecrated. After Drezdenko was taken over by the Polish people, on August 5, 1945 the church was consecrated as a Catholic temple.
The public task is co-financed from the funds received from the Marshal's Office of the Lubuskie Voivodeship
